How to set up your Gratitude gym

In view of the 7-day Gratitude fest starting next week, I thought I’d give you a few tips on how to build your Gratitude gym!

Why?

Because gratitude does not always come naturally or automatically. Gratitude is a habit, and our Gratitude muscles need practice!

When we need to train our muscles, very often, we go to the gym, don’t we? So here, to train our Gratitude muscles, I’d suggest you set up your Gratitude gym!

Where?

Simple : find a place, a corner of your house where you often happen to spend time. I mean, of course, you could choose a dedicated space in a room where you normally never go, but, just like a gym, if you need to go out of your way to get there, chances are, you might give up after a while.

If we want to get “gratefully fit”, we’re going to choose a gratitude gym that’s more accessible. If that means setting it up in your car, in your kitchen, on your bathroom mirror or your toilet door, THAT’S FINE!

How?

Now, the how: once you’ve chosen the place, take a moment and think about the things you’re grateful for. The things that come to your mind when you think about Gratitude. It might be people, places, a job, objects, anything. Try and think of about 5 to 10 things. Once you’ve done that, to try to represent as many of those things in your Gratitude gym: they’re gonna be your gratitude workout machines! 😁

You could use pictures, you could use a piece of cardboard and draw/pin things on it. It could be little objects. Anything that reminds you of those things you’re grateful for. Let your creativity run wild!

Gym set. What now?

Once you’ve got your gym set, all you need to do is start going there! You can set yourself specific times during the day, or go every time you’ve got some free time, you choose. But I recommend you do it at least twice a day. Morning, and evening, just so we start and close on a good note.

Just like yesterday’s truthbomb said, “gratitude attracts more things to be grateful for”, the more we train our muscles to be grateful, the easiest it will be, and maybe one day you won’t even need to think about it, it will come naturally! (like me remembering to broaden my shoulders and sit up straight… I’ll get there one day!! 😂😂)

Like the idea? Show us what you’ve created! Send me a picture of your Gratitude gym and I’ll publish it on Facebook and Instagram!

  1. I love this and set one up (right on one side of my desk) straight away! I have a feeling that it will become something which evolves as I evolve, and a part of my gratitude workout schedue will include some periodic adding and purging. I can’t wait to see what you will post next!

    1. Thanks Holly! And I can’t wait to hear about your evolution! (both yours and your G-gym’s! 😁)
