I Woke Up – And Remembered It.

I woke up, and as soon as soon as I remembered it, even before opening my eyes, my stomach constricted. My heart skipped a beat, then started beating faster, as if to make up for that skipped beat…

I kept my eyes closed and breathed.

After a few minutes, I opened Facebook, and started scrolling down my newsfeed. And there it was. A sign.

I don’t believe in coincidences.

These words were right there, staring at me:

“The more important an activity is to your soul’s evolution, the more resistance you will feel to it.” ~Steven Pressfield

As a published author and Book Doula, I know for a fact that writing a book is one POWERFUL way for one’s soul to grow!

I’ve experienced it first hand. I witness it all the time for my clients.

I KNOW I have been blessed with a new opportunity for my Soul to evolve further. Recently, after discussing the energies of the year with a friend, I sat down and wrote out a full outline for a new book, complete with title, subtitle, ideal reader, and overarching theme/message, in less than half an hour…

And I’m torn.

Not because I’m afraid I can’t make it, (Hell, no ! I wrote a book in 14 days, so why couldn’t I do it again?), but exactly because I KNOW I CAN.

And my brain thinks it’s a good idea to ask me whether this is a good idea… (Thanks, brain. Very helpful, indeed. NOT.😂)

So, I listen. I thank it. And go on with my day.

Writing isn’t planned to start for another week, anyway, so.. No rush.

However…

After my nap, I take my sketch pad and my post-its, sit at the table and start organising things visually.

I’m not writing yet, but I’m showing up for my book.

I’m telling the Universe that I’m in. Today. And every other day *I* will decide to show up, and in however way I can, big or small.

That’s how I wrote my first book.

That’s how most authors I know write their books: by showing up.

Now, I may or may not finish my draft by the end of the month. I’m still debating it.

I know I can’t predict the future, but I can certainly plan for it.

And the key to turning that plan into reality is, you’ve guessed it, by showing up, so that inspiration can follow.

It’s all in my hands. All in my power to play my part and show up.

No shame if I don’t. Just acknowledging my responsibility and seeing things for what they are.

Big projects can feel… BIG. And it can be easier to cast them aside, very often for “valid” reasons.

But the truth is, most of the time, the reason why big projects don’t happen is that they’re missing their key element: YOU.

Are you READY to write a book?

If you’re thinking, “YES. I am ready to SHOW UP and write my own story…”

It’s kind of (exactly) like birthing a baby. Sometimes you need guidance from an experienced soul who can take you from conception all the way to birth.

Just call me your BOOK DOULA.
